Which week is a better week for Disney
Which week would you pick for Disney ? Either the last week in August or the 2nd week in October ? I am concern mainly on how crowded it would be . Thanks

Last week in August. While it may be hot, it is practically empty as the kids go back to school in most states.

Re: Which week is a better week for Disney
From a crowd perspective, last week of August is probably better.
I personally would go in mid-October, just try to avoid Columbus Day weekend.
We went to Orlando in mid-October and the weather was lovely. We would go to the parks in the morning and return to our hotel to swim after lunch. It was high 80's by noon and I thought it was too hot to walk around the parks even then. Can't imagine how hot it would be in August!

End of August for sure. It rains a lot more in October than in August, and in August is less crowded. The Halloween parties bring more crowds in my experience.

We always go around the last week of August and leave the Friday before labor day. Labor day weekend the crowds pick up a little bit. For October during the week it is normally low crowds but then Friday-Sunday the crowds pick up because of Mickey's Halloween stuff. It does cool off a little bit in October though.

Which week is a better week for Disney
we went the end of august into september this year and it was AMAZING as far as crowds go!!! I don't think we waited more than 20 minutes for any ride all week! BUT it was hot.... so i would just be prepared for that. it didn't really bother us much at all though bc most of the lines are in shade or inside, and there are a lot of different shows and stuff you can do that are inside to get a little break from the heat. I think as long as you are prepared for it- as far as planning for some breaks, always having water, etc.... its fine. the super low crowds made it worth dealing with the heat!

Re: Which week is a better week for Disney
We usually go September. October is rainy season... We lucked out twice, but we're totally rained out once. Even Disney is miserable in the rain. We never had crowds for the Halloween party (actually, we always had zero wait in lines... Even for new rides).
I'd do August. You can swim & have a higher chance of dry weather. Crowds will be larger (but we never felt they were intolerable).

Crowd wise, August. October is a very popular time of year to visit the Disney parks but with good reason. Between the Halloween events and the Food and Wine Festival it's an amazing time to be there.
I would love to help you plan a magical vacation at no additional cost to you. I take pride in helping my clients pick the best week and resort to fit their family's personal needs.

Which week is a better week for Disney
Crowds are definitely lower in August - but it's much hotter. My anniversary is in October, so I prefer to go then. I haven't experienced October rain the way others have mentioned. This past August the pool in the hotel was closed on 3 different days due to rain.

We have only been to Orlando once in October and I was afraid of and expecting a lot of rain. I didn't even book Mickey's Halloween Party in fear that we would be rained out.
Weather was clear the entire time except one afternoon when it rained for like 30 min. We were already in the pool and did not mind at all.

Re: Which week is a better week for Disney
I recommend checking a few different Crowd Calendars and basing your decision on that.
I prefer the calendars from Kenny the Pirate and EasyWDW
August can be hot...but i have been to Disney in October with days in the 90's. So I wouldn't base your decision on Weather...however, Disney does sometimes offer deals for the fall/spring when crowds tend to be a little lighter. Something worth looking into, especially if you plan to stay on property and purchase a meal plan
