I hired a clown (non scary looking) to entertain the kids at my DD's christening. She did face painting as part of her activities but she also did balloon animals, games like limbo, conga line, etc, bubbles, parachute play. The kids seemed to have fun. It was $150 for the hour she was there. (half paid upon booking and half paid the day of the party). If you want the company name let me know.

My son's preschool hired an amazing face painter for their fall festival this year. I watched her on and off all day and she was so amazing I took her card. Not sure what she charges but you could call and ask...
