Courteney Cox and Johnny McDaid have split. A source revealed to Hollywood Life that the couple broke their engagement about a month ago.



The pair were engaged for a year-and-a-half. According to the insider, Courtney is “devastated” at how quickly the break up happened.



“They were going to counseling because they were having issues and fighting a lot, about everything,” the source told HL.”He just decided he wanted to separate. He hasn’t really given a reason, but mainly said he wants to focus on his music and can’t take the fighting.”

Courteney isn't taking the split from Johnny well at all, but she's trying to remain strong.

“She is really depressed about it … extremely upset about. She truly is just miserable about it,” the source added.

Courteney Cox, 51, and Johnny McDaid, 39, were introduced to each other by Ed Sheeran. They announced their engagement in June 2014 when Courteney tweeted a photo of them together that read: “I'm engaged to him!”

Johnny responded by tweeting: “I'm engaged to her!”

Johnny was known to say sweet things about his fiancee after their engagement. He bragged about the actress' confidence, talent, and ability to make movies with powerful scenes.



According to National Enquirer in October, Courteney didn't want a lavish wedding. She apparently wanted to avoid having a wedding that cost “$2 million” – like Jennifer Aniston's wedding when she married Justin Theroux.

A source close to both Jennifer and Courteney told Enquirer: “Courteney thinks Jen was crazy for dropping nearly $2 million!”

“She’s decided on an anti-Aniston wedding when she ties the knot with Johnny (McDaid),” the source said. “It won’t be over the top.”

It's unknown what caused Courteney Cox and Johnny McDaid to split up. Details surrounding the couple's break up aren't known at this point.
