Is this generally a good seat? I see it has good reviews and has a competitive price so I'm considering it for after DD2 outgrows the infant seat. She's a peanut at only 17 pounds and 27 inches at a year so I don't know if I should go for something with more padding or inserts or if that's not necessary. I'm hoping to keep her in the infant seat through the winter anyway.

Yes, this is a highly recommended car seat by the Car Seat for the Littles Facebook page, where there are many women are trained and certified CPST's (child passenger safety technicians). It has long lasting rear facing limits and the price is great. I just ordered one this weekend on Amazon for my husband's car which we use as the family car on the weekends. I'm not sure if it was a Black Friday sale but I got it for $99.

I have it for DS, I love it! There is lots of room for him to grow. He is 15 mo, 24lbs 31inches. The head padding I feel is good and I like that it adjusts with 1 hand as they grow, and no re-thredding the belt.
