WOuld you go back to doctor?

DD (age 6) started feeling sick last Sunday ( a week ago). Low grade fever (like 99-100) that would go away and come back. Kept her home from school Tuesday and Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Brought her to doctor on Wednesday because she was just not improving, even though she had no runny nose, fever was not high/inconsistent. Chest, ears were clear. Said it was probably a virus and to come back on Friday or Saturday if no improvement.

Thanksgiving and day after barely ate, sluggish, napped a lot, fever on and off (highest was 101). Took her in on Saturday afternoon. He said he heard a little something in the chest and said it could be pneumonia and put her on an antibiotic. He said to come back Monday for bloodwork and an xray if no improvement.

She has had no fever since Saturday, is eating better and today was the first day she stayed awake all day and seemed more like herself.

Would you take her back? I think the antibiotic is working and I would hate her to miss another day of school, but I don't want to be careless either.

I would. I don't run to the dr for every little thing but if he thought pneumonia I would def make sure that cleared up and she's all better. I wouldn't risk that

WOuld you go back to doctor?

No I would not. If she improving then the dr isn't going to do anything.

Sounds like she is getting better to me! I wouldn't get an X-ray without being sure she needed it.

This was my thought. Decided to send her in so we'll see how she does.

I wouldn't send her back because at this point I don't think there's anything the doctor can do. My DD had a virus starting thanksgiving and it stinks but the only thing we can do is wait it out.

If she's on antibiotic and feeling better then I wouldn't bring her back.

Re: WOuld you go back to doctor?

Thanks all!!! You made me feel better. I did not send her back and she went to school today. Curious to see how tired (if at all) she is after school.
