Potty training?
Talk to me about potty training. Dd is only 16 mo, but she's started to tell us when she's gone to the bathroom and walks to her room to get changed. As of right now she's still in her crib-I was just about ready to switch her to a bed and she started sleeping in the crib. Also, I'm assuming I'll need a chunk of time to train her-which means either Christmas (17 mo), February break (19 mo but I'll be away for a week with her), or April break (21 mo).

Potty training?
Where she sleeps shouldn't matter, as I doubt you'd want your child getting up to go to the bathroom alone anyway in the middle of the night.
Most people use the 3-day method. I used the "do it when you're ready" method and DD trained herself at exactly 3. Unfortunately I never had a chunk of time where I could stay home for 3-4 days and not leave the house as I WFT and my husband works weekends.
I'd introduce her to the potty and let her sit in it, but probably wouldn't press it until at least 18mo.

Potty training?
I recommend the 3 day. But she is still young. I wouldn't rush it. I would continue to go with her cues. But for now I would just introduce her to the big potty or get her a little one.
I would probably wait till summer when she is closer to 2 to actually train her. Until then just gently do the potty intro. Read the 3 day when it gets closer and get yourself ready. Everyone has to be on board.

Potty training?
My dd did this for a long time before she was actually ready to be potty trained. Personally i didnt do 3 day o just let her tell me she was ready. I bought her a potty and some panties to show her and when she was ready she told me she wanted to wear her panties and go on the potty.

Re: Potty training?
Dd showed interest around that age and I would occasionally put her on the potty. We ultimately did a modified 3-day method around 2.5, though we intended to start earlier (unfortunately, none of the long weeks off from work worked out sooner than summer).

Re: Potty training?
we did the 3 day method when DD was 22 months and it worked well; i would recommend that one. From what I recall, it says you can try ti as early as 18mo...so maybe wait til Feb break (assuming you have time off after you go away...i def wouldnt try it while you are away or right before you go away).
