Question for those who delivered recently- are cell phones allowed in the OR if you had a csection?
When I had dd by csection 3 years ago, we were told no phones, but DH was allowed to bring in a camera to take a pic after Dd was born. I was just wondering, since most people just use their phones as their cameras lately, is it still a rule that you can't bring your phone in? I don't even know where my camera is, let alone the cords to upload pics to the computer. Haven't used it in years.

We weren't. When I delivered at Maimonides, they had DH leave all of our belongings outside the OR. Not sure where the nurses instructed him to leave them though

I delivered last November at stony brook and dh was allowed to bring his phone into the or.

DH said he was allowed to bring it in. I delivered both times at NSUH

We brought in one cell phone (DH put it in his pocket). He didn't take any photos until after our dc was born. We have a family photo of us in OR that the anesthesiologist took.

We had a cellphone. That's what we used for pics. They told us no video allowed but pics were ok.

DO brought a camera into the OR last year when when DS was born. It was a planned section.

At NSUH my DH had his. The anesthesiologist took some pretty cool pictures with it.

I just delivered at Stony Brook on Tuesday and had a section. They told me we could bring our cell phone, but it had to be in airplane mode.

I delivered at LIJ Katz and DH was able to bring his into the OR. The nurses took pics for us with his phone.

I delivered at Southside and DH took pics with his cell phone in the OR. The nurses even took pics for him with his phone.
