carseat help...

I'm not sure how to entitle this, but I don't need recommendations for carseats.

Dd is a little over 2.5. Any and everytime she gets in the carseat, she screams that it is tight. The whole car ride she screams and cries that the straps are tight. She'll push out her chest, and I know the straps then get tighter. I don't think I'm making them too tight in the first place. I'm not sure what to do, but I'm losing my mind with all the yelling and screaming

No real advice but my dd does this too. We started to pretend to loosen them by pulling on them. She was okay with it and it stopped her from screaming. She's mostly over it, but even at 3 I still have to do it sometimes. Also I use a car seat poncho instead of any kind of jacket. I feel like she complains less when it's just her regular clothes under the belts.

My dd does the same thing. she's almost 3. She screams that she's "stuck." I think it's just that she doesn't like being constrained, not that the straps are too tight. She also hated being swaddled as an infant. I just tell her
," look I'm stuck too in my seatbelts, that's what keeps us safe" and then ignore it. At times she manages to lower the chest clip, but there's nothing I can do about that while I'm on the road.

This is what I tell dd when she complains about that. I just tell her being tight means she's safe and that we're all stuck. I recently moved the crotch piece out to the next slot and she seems to be complaining less.

Ugh. It is torture. I've tried with a jacket. Without a jacket. Wiggle the straps. Spew her my Darnell. Say it is for her safety. I'm out of ideas. I feel like we can't go anywhere because it is torture for both of us.
