Re: DH Job Stress

I was in a similar position once and my dad gave me great advice. Don't quit. Show up, do your job, do not take abuse, ans let them fire you if they don't like it. Then you can collect unemployment. Mentally divorce your self worth from how your supervisor treats you. I showed up every day, cordial but not ass-kissy, sent out a ton of resumes, and eventually got a new, much better job where I was adored. But I always thank my dad for that advice. This way there was no uncomfortable gap on my resume to explain to future employers. I continued to get a paycheck, and hey if they fired me, all the better. I could collect unemployment.
Your Dad gave you great advice and you are very strong for sticking through !
OP I was going to say he should quit but I see he was out if work for 6 months. In this case I think he should look like crazy but hang on a little longer

This is good advice and I agree with most of it but be careful because if you are FIRED (rather than laid off) then you cannot collect unemployment.

Per my understanding you can usually collect even if you were fired as long as it's not explicit misconduct, theft, safety violation etc. but yes that's a good point, don't go all "office space" on your employer lol!

DH Job Stress
He was out of work for 6 months but that was due to his previous job doing reorganization.
Update - he resigned on Friday. The boss went into panic mode on Friday due to them potentially losing their major client. He ordered everyone to work 12 hour days including Thanksgiving with no additional pay. That on top of the constant nit picking, verbal abuse and demeaning emails and comments was enough. He has already had 4 recruiters contact him for jobs. He is back to his normal self too. The stress of that place was having an affect on him and me.
