spin off to holiday cards...

do you address each one to the specific person/family

ex, Dear john, jane and family

or

do you leave it blank and just sign your name

if you sign your name do you add, love, fondly etc

I always address it to the person or family with their names.

I always sign it love, sometimes fondly

Re: spin off to holiday cards...

Before I had children I sent out regular boxed Xmas cards and I'd write "Dear Whoever" and sign love........our names.

Now that I have kids, I do printed picture cards and I don't write anything on them. Sometimes I'll do a double sided printing and print a message on the back but I feel like the greeting on the front and our name is usually enough.

I adore getting the picture cards, I love seeing everyone's kids and families. Very, very, very rarely do I get one with any kind of additional handwritten message.

I do picture cards and don't write on them at all. I don't think I've gotten one with anything additional written.

I always do Love, ...

No kids here, so I just pick up some cute boxed cards, address them to "The Smith Family" and sign Love, X & X.

When I uses to send regular cards, I would always write out "Dear..." Now,since dd has been born, I've been sending out photo cards, and I don't write on them.

Re: spin off to holiday cards...

I try to at least write out Dear xxx and Love, xxx even though we do picture cards. Since we usually get ones that say Happy Holidays or a sentiment that doesn't specifically say Merry Christmas, I'll often write that or Happy Hanukkah and Happy New Year. I try to get a design that has a little space because I just like to make it a little personal.
I used to try to write a little more, but as my list has gotten ridiculously long and I see almost no one else bothers, I don't so much anymore.

Re: spin off to holiday cards...

My cards are pre-printed with Love, and our names/

But I always write Dear so and so at the top and try to write a quick one liner too like- Enjoy the holidays, looking forward to seeing you on Christmas, etc.

I always make sure to get a card that opens like a regular greeting card and is not on that glossy photo paper- so I can write in it.

I don't have children so I always used to get the box cards and write a personal note to each person. Now I'm lazy and take a cute holiday photo of my cat and send a photo card and don't write anything lol

Even with the photo cards, I like to write something, even if it's on the back. But, I don't do it for every card.

Re: spin off to holiday cards...

I make it very personal. I really take a good chunk of time to write them out -- which is why I try and get them done and made early each year.

I usually write:

Dear Joe, Karen, Jillian, Joey & Alexa,

Wishing all of you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy New Year! Julian and I look forward to seeing you in February for Joey's birthday!!

Season's Greetings, God Bless...

Love,
Danielle & Julian

Something like that.

Then, I have a few loved ones who are Jewish.

Dear Dr. Fellus,

Wishing you and your loved ones a very Happy Hanukkah. Warmest wishes during the holiday season and a very Happy New Year as well! Thank you again for everything you do for Kenneth and his ongoing recovery. Look forward to seeing you soon!

Warmest Regards,
Danielle & Julian

...I always write the general Christmas or Hanukkah wish -- plus the New Year well wish and then usually something personal too. And I always write everyone's name. Like, I won't just write "Joe, Karen and Kids" Or "The Smith Family" Or "Joe, Karen & Family". I like to write everyone's names.
