happy & healthy pediatrics?
Looking for some info on the practice.
Is it to get an appointment/ sick appointment? How long do you have to wait in the waiting room for your apt? If you call with a question, does a nurse or Dr call you back? Is bloodwork done in the office or do you have to go to a separate lab? Do you see all of the doctors there or only 1 in particular? Any other info that you'd like to share, I would love to hear!

Re: happy & healthy pediatrics?
I've been going there for several years. I find it very easy to get an appointment (wellness or sick appointment), but do note that the late hour appointments go quickly, but that's the case anywhere IMO. We never wait more than 5-10 minutes and most times they take us as soon as we walk in especially for sick appointments. It depends on the question, but if I want a doctor to call me back, she does. They also have a patient portal, which I use all of the time to ask the doctor questions directly. We used to go to a separate lab, but I think they now have the ability to do testing on-site.
We see 1 doctor for all wellness exams and we are comfortable seeing any of the doctors when the kids are ill.
We love the place and would never think of changing practices. FM with any other questions you have.

happy & healthy pediatrics?
I do find it a little difficult to get a well appointment IF you are a FTWM, and want the same doctor each time. I make all of my appointments 6 months in advance so I know I have them. I do not know what will happen if/when I have a second child and if I will be able to get appointments immediately with the doctor of my choice. When you call for a sick visit they get you in that same day but it will be with any of the 5 doctors in the practice. I like their policy that if you are late for an appt (i think it is 15 mins) they move on to the next person. It keeps them running on time, and ive never waited more than 5 mins. Blood work has always been done in the office. I usually use the patient portal online to email the doctors directly with questions on little things that do not need immediate answers. Otherwise when I have called the office during regular hours the staff either gets me an answer or has someone call me back. Ive had to call the emergency line twice now with a question, once I was called back immediately, and the second I was called back the next morning -- the doctor apologized that she never got the message. Overall I agree with the philosophy of the practice. There are some "hand outs" you get in the beginning that you can find online -- you might want to read through them to get a sense for their ideals. All in all, i like the practice, and as long as I am able to get my well visits with my doctor of choice I will be staying. Last note -- the parking lot there STINKS. When it was just 2 doctors in the practice it was OK, but now that there are 5 doctors you have to usually park a block away.

thanks! I will have to drive by the office & check out the parking situation.
Have you both, pp, seen most/all of the Doctors there at some point?

Re: happy & healthy pediatrics?
I guess it's because my appointments are always in the evening, but I never have a problem with parking. Even when we went to the flu clinic, I parked right outside the door.
We've seen almost all of the doctors there and have liked them all.
I too always book the appointments way ahead of time - they let you know when the next appointment can be made. I do this for both of my children and it's worked out fine for us.

Re: happy & healthy pediatrics?
Thank you! I am long overdue in leaving my current practice.
I was considering H&H Ped or Dr. Frank Roberto

We love this practice. We never have to wait more than 5 minutes to see the doctor. Evening appointments are tough to get so we always schedule 3-6 months in advance. Never had an issue getting a sick visit appointment within a couple hours of calling. Love the doctors and feel comfortable with them all.

Re: happy & healthy pediatrics?
bummer.. I just called them & they are not currently taking on transfer patients. They took my info & will call me when they open the schedule. I think I will just wait then. Hopefully, I can get in by the time my DS needs his next well visit.

Whoa, I had no idea they were not taking on patients. The practice is getting so big. Have you looked into Dr. Accetta in Garden City on NHP Rd? I've heard good things about him.

Re: happy & healthy pediatrics?
I haven't looked into Dr Accetta but I will, thanks. I also want to check out Dr. Frank Roberto in floral park as well.
They said it's temporary so I am considering holding out a few months until it's time for my son's next annual.
