Weekend getaway

Our anniversary is coming up- we would like to take a small getaway- no more than 3 hours away. Anyone have ideas?! We are brewery/ foodie/ spa type couple

Newport, RI is gorgeous this time of year and quiet vs the insanity of summer. They have a great spa at the Hotel Viking. It is also a wonderful hotel. They gave my boyfriend a big discount for being law enforcement. The hotel has a lot of history and the service was excellent. Beautiful indoor pool and we loved the spa.

We also went another time and stayed at a B&B but this is a very high end one... It's a splurge but was the best B&B I have ever been to! It's right on the cliff walk which is a must in Newport. It's called the Cliffside Inn.

There are a million amazing places to eat there. Check out trip advisor. I ate at almost every one in the top ten -- all awesome. Great food, a vineyard right in Newport. Awesome trip. We took the orient ferry and were there in about one hour after exiting the ferry in CT. Amazing. Easy trip.

We have also been to New Hope, PA. The Woolverton Inn. Gorgeous and very romantic. Spas nearby. Vineyards also.

We loved Cape May, NJ. Congress Hall was our fave place to stay.

We had a ball in Boston but that's a little further. Not bad with the ferry though.

I recently booked The Roxbury Motel in the Catskill Mountains for 3 days...haven't been yet but the reviews on Trip Advisor are all really good and the rooms are so cool! There are two spas on site and it seems like there are a lot of good places to eat around the town. It's about 3 hours north of the city
