Interested in possible modeling for my son

Has anyone ever modeled their kid? Commercials etc

I am thinking about it but want to know from experience what is done? How much spare time is needed? Costs etc?

Everyone thinks their kids are the cutest, but yesterday all day every single person was all into my son - along w Alotnof every other day
So it got me thinking that's all

From what I hear it's a lot of work and hassle for very little return. I know there are moms on here who have done it, hopefully they can give some advice!

My sister has twins and tried to get them into TV in modeling. They're beautiful kids but as PP said she spent many days traveling into the city sitting in waiting rooms for very few jobs. Also the money that was paid from the jobs they did get, it didn't really even out from the time and money they spent traveling and sitting around and not spending quality time with her kids ( as we all know kids in waiting rooms are not very happy!)
You can always find a talent agency and bring your son in to see what they think. There's usually a specific "look" theyre looking for which honestly in my opinion is not always the cutest kid out there!!

A couple of my friends have done it. They got their kids an agent, and the agent would call them when a job for their "type" came up. You really have to be a SAHM for it to work, because they'll call you on a Monday and say they need you in Manhattan the next day at 11 AM. And if you can't make it, they stop calling you.

A lot of it is about the personality of the child rather than the looks - a child has to be willing and able to be around crowds of strange people, have their clothes changed quickly, sit and wait for very long periods - all without fussing or crying. My friends have told me that it's not a whole lot of money, but one friend got to keep a bunch of the high-end clothes her daughter modeled, and another friend had her baby appear in a very well-known tv show for 30 seconds and that'll be a fun thing to show him (and future girlfriends, lol!) for the rest of his life.

A friend of mine had a kid who did serious modeling (chosen as "the" baby for a big fancy department store for the holidays).

Her baby was breathtaking. Really cutest baby ever.

She (mom) enjoyed the modeling at first & very true what above people said. She became very disillusioned after a short time & like it or not, took some of the rejection personally.

They had a real agent & real gigs for baby.

After seeing that, I personally would not.

My friend did it for a while before she left NY. It's a full time job and pretty demanding. Her DC is still being used in pictures for a major baby company that I'm sure you've all seen and what she made is nothing. It's like a one time fee. So I don't think it will pay your child's way through college.

Also a lot is how your baby acts too. Most babies are cute so that's not the difficult part.

An agent had approached me when DD was almost a year, she's a cutie and has an amazing outgoing personality, so she waves and greets strangers everywhere we go. This woman specialized in representing children and after I said I wasn't a stay at home mom she basically said it wasn't for me. That bringing my baby to calls would have to be my job.
