Flu Shot
I am little confused and annoyed. We have insurance through Child Health Plus for our son, that we pay $300 a month to have. Adding him to my policy or my husband's would have been an arm and a leg... So with that said my son has never gotten the shot because he's been home with me but things are changing now. The dr's office said that the state has not sent the shots to them and we have to wait for them... Has anyone heard of this? I just think it's crazy and hope it's not too late to get my son one by the time it comes in.

Re: Flu Shot
I believe that most of the Pharmacys give the flu shots for free.

To kids too? He's never gotten it before so of course I am worried about side effects etc.

Yes that's true. Although they should have them by now. Our pedi had to wait to receive them too but they had them by third week in September.

I don't believe Pharmacy's carry the ones for children. This was my experience when I was looking to have DS get vaccinated without having to wait for an appointment at my peds office.

Yes just called my insurance company who didn't think that it should matter where they came from and then our old ped's office who explained more. The old office said that they should have them by now because they do. I am waiting to speak to the office manager at the new office on Monday. I think it's a bit off putting. Hopefully Monday will clear things up. Pharmacies do not give for kids under 18

I think you're right! My ped said CVS would not give it to my son (he's 3). We are going tomorrow to a flu shot clinic at our ped since they had a delay getting it, so it's not too late.
