Laptop Recommendation
Please recommend your laptop aside from a MAC.
Money (DH) is not allowing us to splurge on that right now

Re: Laptop Recommendation
What are you planning on doing with the laptop? Will it be: Carried around a lot? Mainly on a desk? Plugged in most of the time, or running on battery? Mostly web surfing and email, or high-end graphics? Does the size of the screen matter? 17in vs 14 in?
What sort of price range were you thinking of? Laptops can range from about $300-$3000 (of course, there is no theoretical upper limit.... )

I will be using it to work from home on a needed basis. However, the bulk use of it will be internet surfing, email, photo uploads and video streaming. I would prefer a 17in because I work on a lot spreadsheets for my job.
I (DH) would like to be under $1000 mark
