Party Favors
Every year I never know what to get or how much to spend.... What do kids like the most as a favor at a kids party? What do the parents like? And how much do you spend per kid?
What do you give to siblings that attend? Two years ago they were only 18 months old so it wasn't a big deal. Now they are 3 and 1/2. They aren't invited guests but will be there...

Re: Party Favors
I always consider the ages or try to -- it can be hard if you have a large range of ages.
For my son's second birthday we had kids as young as two and as old as ten!
So, I did a piggy bank with their name on it -- the place we had the party at provided choices, and this seemed to be the best for all the ages.
Then, I added a goody bag of candy. They loved both. Even the two and three year olds "got" the idea of the bank and already started to put coins in -- and continued to do so after the party, many of their parents told me.
Cookie favors are also a go-to for me. I did them through Laura the Cookie Lady for my son's first and second birthday party. The adults always love them, so do the kids. Edible stuff is usually a hit :)

Re: Party Favors
I try to theme it to the party, but this only works if the party already has a theme. My dd had a bear themed birthday so i gave each child a book about bears, flash cards with bears on it and a bear shaped chocolate lollipop.
Another year, I didn't have a theme. If you don't have a theme get something you think that age range would like. I ended up doing melissa and doug water wows and playdoh. Just some fun stuff! This was a big hit.
I usually end up spending $5-$10 on each child. It's a lot because it adds up!

Re: Party Favors
I try to keep it simple and cheap because most of it goes in the trash from what I have learned. Some candy, some bubbles, maybe themed jewelry for the girls, stickers or tattoos. Try to keep it at no more than $5.00 per kid.

Re: Party Favors
For DD's party this year the older kids that were there got mini lego sets...there are some that are under $5 on Amazon and TRU priced matched them. It was spring time so the other kids got a kite and a bubble wand.
DD turned 4 and the ages were 2-10

Re: Party Favors
This year I did a cookie favor... I wasn't sure it was enough and that is why I asked.... I threw a pencil in with the cookie as most of the kids are in 1st grade. I did it all the theme of the party...

Re: Party Favors
My kid's favorite favors were: Book Sticker activity from a discount store Lego Paper airplane (the old school ones)
I immediately toss the candy & small plastic stuff favors
I've personally stopped doing favors. Somehow the kids don't miss them & many relatives have followed. Nice to use the extra $ for something at the party!
