The actor originally sparked concern for his frame back in July when pictures emerged of him looking particularly gaunt.
His withered appearance, far removed from his action figure image, was blamed on filming for latest release Silence, in which he plays Father Cristovao Ferreira.
The role of tortured priest Cristovao led the method actor to 'shed his beer gut' and commit to losing 60lbs in weight; something that it was later revealed was taken a step too far for the actor.
