Re: Splenda
My NY doctor said no, but he was rather "wholistic." He was against it even not when PG. He's against anything artificial. He said regular sugar was better. I think there are mixed opinions though.

Re: Splenda
My Dr is fine with both Splenda and Equal. I would die without some type of sweetness.

Re: Splenda
I normally despise this stuff. I really question it's long term safety- a lot of it comes down to how much $$$ these companies spend in lobbying the government- who REALLY knows how safe it is.
However- I've been having it lately due to the whole diabetes thing.
I try to eat as little as I can- but it is impossible for me to eat NO sugar.. so I have a little splenda or equal here and there.

Re: Splenda
I personally can't stand fake sweetners, so I had no idea what to tell her when she asked.

Re: Splenda
My doctor said if I wanted to use any artificial sweeteners, that Splenda was the best of the bunch.. However I made a personal choice and eliminated it all .. I actually started to do this before becoming pregnant, since I was attributing my bad migraines to artificial sweeteners..
On the rare occassions I have coffee or a soda (and we're talking VERY rare, since neither coffee nor soda appealed to me during this pregnancy) I just use sugar or have a regular Coke, instead of Diet.
