Is Aruba doable with a 8-9 month old?
We are in much need of a vacation. I am just worried about traveling with a baby. FTM.
Has anyone done it? Thoughts? Is it worth it???

Is Aruba doable with a 8-9 month old?
We took our DS on vacation to Turks and Caicos in early April when he was 9.5 months. We had the best time and would do it again in a heartbeat! We found him super easy to travel with at that age. He slept pretty much the entire flights, LOVED the pool (we brought an awesome floAt with sun canopy), and was so great all week long. I guess maybe it depends on the kid and their temperament but I think that's a great age for easy travel.

That age was great to travel with and Aruba is a great place!! I wish I went away with my DD when she was an infant, it was so much easier back then lol it didnt feel like it at the time but it was.

I think traveling with babies is way easier then traveling with a toddler. I say go for it!

Absolutely! Took DS1 at that exact age to Aruba. Only issue was he just started crawling so he was all over the place. Crawling in the sand then trying to eat it or crawling all over the hotel room. We took DS2 at 6 months before he started crawling, which was sooo much easier. LOL
I remember seeing people on the beach with a travel PnP or travel baby bouncer. We got a blow up swim pool for DS there and threw toys in there and a little water. He had a blast.

I would echo this. We took DS on a 10-day trip to Yellowstone when he was 8 mos. So easy to transport him in his infant carrier, feeding was easy on the go...he was really good on the flight too (we got him a seat and buckled his infant carrier in and he slept).
Don't hesitate! Go on vacation! And Aruba is great!!

Thanks everyone! Im so happy to see all the positive experiences. We actually just booked Puerto Rico. We've been a million times and figured for a first family trip we'd do something familiar. We need to get to Aruba though. I hear such amazing things about it. It's on my list! I have so much anxiety over this trip hahaha. But we NEED a vacation.

ITA we went to Argentina (11 hour flight) when our youngest was 3 months old, it was so easy compared to travelling with him now as a toddler.

I personally think you're all nuts. I wouldn't don't consider a vacation like that with a baby a vacation. We stick to kid friendly places when they're little and do nice adult vacations alone. DH and I wouldn't enjoy ourselves at all on a beach vacation with an infant. My kids were both tough babies though, so that might skew my opinion a little. I'm also too nervous to take little ones out of the country, God forbid someone got sick or hurt.

I feel the same as you, but I had a VERY VERY bad infant. The thought of her at that age on a flight gives me chills. We would be thrown off. She would cry for hours on end- I could see her screaming the whole flight. The poor people on that flight wouldn't deserve that. LOL And then sleeping in a hotel, forget it. It wouldn't be a vacation, it would be stress. And yes, I am paranoid too about leaving the US with a baby- medical care, etc I'm a little paranoid though, I know it
