Soon to be FTM here - how many of you use(d) a baby carrier around the house with a newborn? I know some people swear by them and I am looking into this one.

I never used them with my first. With my second Ive used it very little and mostly because I take dd to a park or Apple picking etc. I wouldn't recommend it really.

Baby Carrier

When DS was little I never used it cause he wasn't a fan. Now he is older (almost 1) I use it occasionally as pp said to Apple pick etc.

I never really needed to use it to have my hands frees. I imagine if DS was needier I would have used it.

I love them! I use an ergo & Bjorn. Love them each for different ages!

Since many people don't use them, I get lots of offers for them (so you probably don't need to buy it).

Love them. I like the straps like you posted for when they're tiny. I also have and absolutely love my ergo. I used them around the house when they were fussy and not napping well. I use them at the house, grocery shopping, today to bring my little one to the petting zoo at my older dd's preschool.

I have the KTAN and love it. Very comfy for around the house. Honestly, it's the only way I can get anything done. My LO does not like to put down / left alone for longer than five minutes!

I used the K'Tan a ton when DS was a newborn. I lived in the city at the time so it was very convenient for easy, hands-free errands.

They have a great videos on Youtube for how to use it different ways.

i wanted DS to like the carrier...but no such luck.

I tried the ktan, bjorn, ergo and the infantino stash...ds hated them all. I personally found the bjorn the most comfortable...i hated the ergo (so i was glad DS did too!). But ended up returning them all.

I would get whatever you want...but save the receipt and packaging so you can return them if necessary

DS liked to be held while sleeping and took a long time falling asleep to nap. I'd wear him and sway back and forth until he fell asleep. I've only used it a handful of times with DD while I took DS to play outside. We have the Ergo.

It's a decent amount of money but I cannot say enough about the Tula carrier. It's amazing and DD is so comfortable in it. The downside is that its not available at the big box baby stores, or any store for that matter. You have to order in online. You can use it with a newborn but don't waste your money on buying the infant insert (it's also expensive). You can achieve the same effect with a rolled up receiving blanket. There are You Tube videos showing you the trick!

Baby wearing in the house is definitely helpful when you need to do things around the house. I don't do it every day but when I'm running behind and my lo needs me, I just wear him while doing chores in the house.

I have an Ergo and I wrap but I actually prefer my wrap which is a Girasol, they have great colors, great pattern, and the texture of the fabric is really soft and strong.

Ktan or Moby is great for a newborn. Ergo is comfy and really easy to use for a baby with better head control. There's a fb group for LI Babywearing. Lots of advice and lots of carriers for sale.

My DD loved her ergo 360. You can do forward facing in, forward facing out, and on back. I loved it when DD wasn't walking. I could strap her in and take her for a long walk with the dog.
Even now at 2 she will ask to go in the carrier from time to time.

DS was a needy baby. I'd stick him in it and he'd calm down and doze off or at the very least stop crying. I have an ergo. At 17 months, I still sometimes use it.
