How much would you give for...
...a baby shower at the office that you can't attend but want to contribute to the group gift.
For someone who you aren't really friendly with at all, but see around the office and say hi, etc
I am stumped for some reason and don't want to look cheap, but don't want to over give either

For a group gift. As in someone is coming around to collect for this person lol. When I was working, I usually gave 10 dollars.

Yes group as in we all contribute and the person running it will buy something off her registry or a large gift card....

I never gave more than 10 especially for someone I used to just say hi and bye to. I worked with A LOT of people so I felt my 10 bucks was plenty for someone I didnt really encounter all that much.

How much would you give for...
We had a baby shower at work last week and they asked $20 from everyone. They actually didn't get a lot of people to come because these people felt they did not like being told what to give. Anyway I always give $15-$20 for these things.

I'd say about 10- 20. I personally wouldn't do any more.

$10 is more than enough in my opinion. At my office $5-$10 is the going rate for contributions for occasions like that.

For a group gift with someone you're not really friendly with??..................I'd throw in $10. I think that's plenty given the circumstances.

This! If it's a close friend I'd probably still do $10 or a little more, but buy a separate gift from myself anyway. Someone I don't know or are friends with, but to be nice $10 is fine.

Re: How much would you give for...
Yeah I was thinking $10 since it's a group collection and to be honest I barely speak to this girl.
But then I didn't want to look cheap either and the woman who is collecting is known to be a bit of a witch and there has been some bad blood between our departments so I am trying to mend fences and be the bigger person
Maybe I'll compromise and do $15.
Never realized it was this difficult!
