Do you always get travel insurance?
I didn't get it, but now I'm thinking I should have with the hurricane coming. We are supposed to be flying out of McArthur on Tuesday am. What happens if our flight is cancelled due to weather?

Re: Do you always get travel insurance?
For big trips I always do.
We go to florida pretty often about once every 2 months. I do not get travel insurance for those type of trips

Do you always get travel insurance?
we just went to disney the last week of august and got the insurance then, just because it was during hurricane season.... thank goodness we didn't end up needing it (although hurricane Erika was supposed to hit that week... so i was glad we had the insurance in case we needed it)

Same here, we go to Florida fairly often and we don't bc we are staying at our place and flights you can usually cancel and rebook but resorts we always get insurance, with young kids we have to

Do you always get travel insurance?
I've never gotten insurance and honestly never needed it. I find that most hotels I book have a cancellation policy that's a few days before arrival date. Some hotels only require 24 hours. Flights I think will be dependent on the airline...

We buy it; we usually only go on big trips. It's better to have it and not need it then to need it and not have it. And we buy cancel for any reason insurance - you never know.

Re: Do you always get travel insurance?
I don't always. It depends on the trip.
If I didn't buy a package I usually don't. I will only buy trip insurance if there is a way I'm going to be out of money.

We never did until DH tore his bicep right before a trip and needed surgery. Ever since then I get it for any trip we need flights for.

Do you always get travel insurance?
It depends on the cancellation policies of where we are going. When we do Disney, we never do insurance because we can cancel pretty close to the travel date. Airfare you can always change the dates.
We always get insurance if go on a cruise. We'd lose alot of money if we had to cancel and paying the extra couple of hundred for insurance is worth it.

Re: Do you always get travel insurance?
No - someone basically has to, god forbid, die to 'benifit' from the insurance.

Re: Do you always get travel insurance?
We don't but I think we should going forward. DH changes his flight often but he just pays the change fee.
The last few times I looked into the trip insurance, it looked like it was due to weather or illness. I don't think you are insured if you just change your mind. Our changes usually occur due to DH's work.

Re: Do you always get travel insurance?
Yes for things like cruises and anything else with a large nonrefundable payment.
I had to use my travel insurance once when I found out the day before I was supposed to leave on a cruises that I could not sail due to a blood clot that needed to be monitored.
While it was frustrating and depressing to unpack suitcases with clean clothes, we got every penny we paid back - even for my mom, whose reservation was linked with ours.
I would have been out about 2k without it.
