Getting town to install park/playground?
There is a big open space next to a water tower in our town and I was thinking how great it would be to make that space a park/playground. There aren't any playgrounds near us that arent in a school yard. Anyone know where I would begin to get something like this started?
ETA we are in town of Hempstead

I would first approach your mayor, but with a bunch of others who also share your idea. There is power in numbers.

What about contacting NYC Department of Parks & Recreation? We went through them about offleash hours in our local park in Queens. Not sure if they would cover your area, but I'm sure they'd be able to point you in the right direction.

Contact the Town. The biggest issue will be funding. The Town may want the park but may not have the cash to actually install all the equipment.
