RECALL ALERT!!!


"RECARO Child Safety is announcing a recall of the ProRIDE and Performance RIDE Convertible Car Seats, manufactured between April 9th, 2010 and June 9th, 2015.

This recall does not affect any ProRIDE or Performance RIDE Convertible Car Seat manufactured after June 9th, 2015.

In the event of a crash when used forward facing with a child over 52 pounds and the top tether attached to the vehicle, the top tether attachment area on the car seat shell could potentially crack or break loose. When the cracking or breaking occurred, the dynamic test scores that directly affect the child were still within the allowable limits of the FMVSS 213 standard. If the top tether breaks or detaches from the car seat, there is an increased risk of injury to the child.

RECARO has had no reported injuries pertaining to this issue. Please continue to use your ProRIDE and Performance RIDE convertible car seats per your instruction manual.

We are sending out notification letters to all registered ProRIDE and Performance RIDE owners who are affected by this recall. The fix kit will contain a tether load redistribution strap and instructions for how to affix the new tether load redistribution strap to the car seat.
