401k or IRA
Which is better for a retirement plan? Also what company would you recommend for either one? My new job offers 401 but doesn't match anything so looking into other options. Thanks

401k or IRA
No reason you can't have both. I have my 401k through work, IRA I opened on my own, as well as IRA that is a rollover from a previous employer 401k plan. So what if they aren't contributing, you still should. I don't know if all plans do this, but mine lets me make my contributions pre-tax which is great.

We have a 401k with company match (half is pre tax/ half after tax) . Also contribute to an IRA on our own (after tax of course).
