Where to bring DD (15 months) this weekend?
Hello everyone,
My DD is 15 months old now, and this weekend we will be visiting my parents in Bayside.
We haven't brought her to any musuems or any shows or anything yet (I've always felt she was too young, even now) but my wife wants to bring her to some things this weekend (and maybe the Zoo next week).
I am thinking the beach one day, but what else is there? Is there a good children's museum for her age (15 months)? or some other type of museum or something?
All she is interested in these days is just running around.
Thank you all!

Queens Zoo is really cute and shaded if your in Queens. Brooklyn Children's museum is also nice.
I did the LICM with my 18 month old and there was the toddler room that he liked but everything else he was too young for. He did like the air museum as well.

Hi,
Thanks for the suggestion (and thanks for letting me know she is too young for LICM).
We live in Manhattan, so it doesn't have to be Queens, it can be Queens or LI.
Thanks!

You can check out the Little Neck Farm, White Post Farms, or go to a place like Westbury Gardens or Clark BOtanical Gardens and just walk around. Queens Zoo is fun too! My 15 month would def not sit through a show !

Thanks for the reply. I'm thinking of taking her to Sands Point, which would satisfy both the beach and trail/nature requirement :)
Thinking of also doing an indoor thing, but I think she is too young to really get much out of a museum. She's probably too young to get much out of nature also, lol. She's happy just running on my parent's lawn in front of the house.

Sands point is beautiful- love it there and had my younger DD's 1st bday there-- and there are nature trails but not much of a real beach if you were looking for a "beach" beach"

We brought our 15 month old to the LICM and my son had a great time. I do not think she is too young for the LICM

I don't think she's too young for the children's museum either. We did the children's museum with my son when he was one year and he had a lot of fun. He liked the toddler area but he also loved the bubble area and the block area.
