Cheaper flights - outside of NYC
Anyone drive to an airport further out to save $$ on airfare? Wondering if it's worth a 2 hour ride to save 500 on fares

I think it depends. DH and debated doing this recently. However, the flight times were early in the morning (7:30 am), we'd have to leave the house by like 3 am to be at the airport on time. We looked into getting a hotel close to the airport, but decided that any savings on the flight would be negated by another night of pet care, hotel fees, parking, etc. Not to mention that we would have a long drive home after a long flight.

We live in DC and I find that the flights from NYC are usually cheaper. Tertiary airports are usually more expensive, not cheaper. They often have layovers while NYC has the most direct flights.

Cheaper flights - outside of NYC
We booked flights out of Philadelphia next month for a trip - but, I'm not on LI so it isn't quite as far. I'm saving a lot of money!
