PLEASE HELP!!

My newborn son sleeps and eats well during the day but at night it is a totally different story. He has been up from 11:00pm - 3:00am on and off screaming his head off. He goes at his bottle like a banji so he is getting all gassy. We get a couple of burps out of him but he is still screaming. I have a 3 year old son that so far has been sleeping through it but I don't know how long that will last. My husband and I are working on less than 3 three hours sleep per night. We changed his formula and nipples as per the doctor but we are at our whit's end. Someone please give me some tips on how to get him to calm down so we can get some rest.

PLEASE HELP!!

Does the baby take a pacifier?
Also what is your sleeping situation? Do you have the baby in his own room or is he sleeping in your room right now?

Re: PLEASE HELP!!

I would ask the doctor about colic as my nephew was like this for months and that is what he had.

PLEASE HELP!!

How old is he? Have you tried giving him gas drops or gripe water. My DD went through a phase at about 4 weeks old of being really fussy and gassy at night. I read somehwere that it had something to do witht their digestive track developing and causing gas and other uncomfortable tummy issues. I gave her gas drops and they seemed to really help. I have also heard going into the bathroom and running the shower not for steam but for noise can soothe them. Bicycling his legs may help gas too.

This is what I was thinking. Doctor always told us for new born give enough in the bottle so that they leave a little, let the baby determine when full.

How old? Do you think he has day-night confusion? DD was gassy and in pain with every bottle. We changed formula but the only thing that helped was time. She outgrew the crying in pain around 2 months, I want to say.

PLEASE HELP!!

Is he sleeping flat? Try sleeping him on an angle.
Burping every ounce
Keep him upright for 20 min after the bottle then out him down

My dd was like this turned out she had a mild case of reflux and dairy protein intolerance. It first started around 3-4 weeks, initially at night and eventually got bad during the day. Took a month of meds and formulas before getting the right combo and then she was totally fine. Started sleeping through the night.
