Mickey's Very Merry Xmas Party - Worth it?
I'm planning a semi-last minute vaca for my family to go to Orlando Nov. 30 - Dec. 6 this year. I know I'm already behind on dining reservations. I'm trying to do as much research as possible, and quickly.
One question I have is, is the Mickey's Very Merry Xmas Party worth the extra cost? It's me, my DH, and two boys, ages 4.5 and 1.5. It's about $220 for 3 extra hours where they both may be asleep.
Anyone been? Have an opinion? TIA!

It's more than 3 extra hours. The party runs from 7 pm to midnight. You can get in with your party ticket starting at 4 pm. If you hang out at the hotel in the morning and rest and then head to MK for 4 pm, you don't need park admittance that day - just the ticket for the party.
The parade and fireworks are really fun and it snows on Main Street. You can see the parade and fireworks on You Tube. There's hot chocolate and cookies and lots of character meeting opportunities. The lines are shorter, but at that time of year, it's usually rather quiet in the parks any way.

I agree. We do the Halloween thing that is similar. Very worth it & I prefer it to going to the park on a regular day. Lines are much shorter & my kids are night Owls... So the cheaper admission is well worth it.

Thanks for the responses. The snow does sound neat but I was planning to purchase a 3 day hopper (getting 2 days for free) with my plum benefits. We would already be paying for daily admission so this party would be extra. Unless we just did it as a late day and entered at 4pm. I can look at the other ticket options/prices. Just not sure our little guy would last but I guess that's fine too. Thanks for getting back to me.

I went with just my husband. My MIL was with us and took the kids back to the hotel so we could have a date night.
It was very fun. The night we were there the park was empty. We walked on to all rides and it was fun for us because we got to do rides we wouldn't normally do with the kids.
If your family likes the parades there are special characters that only come out for the parties. For example, it's the only time you can get a picture with all seven dwarves. Cinderella and Prince Charming are in their wedding attire that night. My SIL was very excited about this. My DH and I used the parade time to go on more rides.
I would have preferred for a date night to have stayed in Epcot and ate and drank around the world but we wanted to experience the party. If I went again with my kids, I would do the party because there aren't tons of people in the park and the lines are short.
Oh, and the fireworks were awesome. When I went to tinkerbell "flew" from the castle and landed somewhere towards Tomorrowland. My kids were little then but they love tinkerbell so they'd love that. The snow is really fun too. If I'm remembering correctly, I think they hand out free hot chocolate and cookies.

Tinker belle flies every ight (weather depending) that is not special to the MVMCP.
Depending on when you go crowds can be low. From friends who attended, they all loved it. We did the Halloween party and it was definitely worth it. I definitely want to try it someday.

So you don't have to pay for park admission too for the day?!?! I had no idea... So you get to play from 4-12 for the price of the party ticket? Does the same apply to the Halloween party?

Yes, the same applies to the Halloween party. The party ticket is your admission ticket into the park. You can get into the park starting at 4 pm.

Re: Mickey's Very Merry Xmas Party - Worth it?
Thanks again for all the responses. My DH and I have done the Halloween party on two separate years and it is really worth it to see all the kiddos dressed up and trick or treating. I'm still debating the Xmas party tho. I'm just not sure my kids will last but if not this year, another.

Re: Mickey's Very Merry Xmas Party - Worth it?
We did MVMCP this past November with my mom and DD who just turned 3. We really enjoyed the parade and the special character meet and greets. We weren't able to take as much advantage of the short lines on the rides because DD was cranky. The snow on Main Street is really cool and overall because we went in November it really got us excited for the upcoming holiday season. I don't necessarily think I'd do it again though whereas I could do the Halloween party every year.
