5 years ago, I got my dress at Doris Fashions in Brooklyn (18th Ave between 68th & 69th Sts). They've been there forever. I got a fantastic price on my Maggie Sottero and they were even able to rush order a replacement gown when their shop had a fire (June 2010, wedding was Oct 2010). It's a no frills sort of place, really, and always quite busy and seems unorganized but they know what they're doing.

I didn't purchase from Doris but I tried on a few dresses there since I was already in the neighborhood. No idea what it looks like now, but it was a small, shoddy boutique in 2010. But they were helpful and reasonably priced. I found my dress at Charisol Bridal in in Bayside, but ultimately wound up purchasing elsewhere. It was a nice place though, small, but good selection. Tried on a few BM dresses there as well.

There's one in middle village on metropolitan! My cousin got her dress there and she said they were great!

I know after Sandy we were living at my parents in MV and I was going to the train and I noticed it. I hadn't lived in MV for like 6ish years.
