Gender Reveal Party- Gifts?
DH's cousin is pregnant with her first, and planning on having a gender reveal party in a few weeks. Is it customary to bring a gift? If so, what would be an appropriate gift? She will be having a big shower at the end of the year, and from what she's said, this is going to be a backyard bbq with family and friends (about 50 people). I've never been to one, so I'm clueless lol

I would just bring a small token gift, like a baby toy or a cute picture frame. I really don't think you need to get a big gift.

If it's not too much of a pain in the butt, I would probably get a girl gift and a boy gift and then just return one after the party. Something small like a bib, onesie, cute pair of booties, etc...

I would not bring a gift. We just had one and didn't expect anyone to bring anything. It's more important that everyone be there for the surprise and celebration!

Agreed. DH and I were considering doing this, but I don't think we will. If we did though, gifts would NOT be expected.

I don't think gifts are expected, but its nice to bring something small.
I like the PP's suggestion of getting a girl and boy gift (small) and returning one!

Re: Gender Reveal Party- Gifts?
not needed. I had a combo gender reveal/house warming party. I put on the invite that no gifts were necessary and I really meant it. it was our second child which is why I did the gender reveal because I didn't want another baby shower we didn't really need anything for the second baby anything we needed I didn't expect anyone to buy!
ETA: esp if she is having a shower you def. don't need to get a gift you will be getting her one for the shower.

Re: Gender Reveal Party- Gifts?
Thank you for the replies- I know she's not expecting anything, but I'd like to get them a little something. Her and I work together, so I'm going to pick up a pack of diapers and a sonogram frame for her desk.

Re: Gender Reveal Party- Gifts?
I brought my sister in law two outfits and gave the one that fit (girl vs. boy). For mine, people brought all sorts of stuff...diaper baskets, small token gifts. I didn't know it was a gift occasion until people brought them to mine.

Gender Reveal Party- Gifts?
If i brought anything, I would bring more of a mommy gift than a baby gift - some stretch mark/belly lotions, a foot massager thing (like this http://www.amazon.com/Massage-Wooden-Rollers-Acupressure-Roller/dp/B005QAZE1Y), a baby book.

Agreed. I had a reveal party in July and I felt horrible when people brought gifts. It wasn't my intention at all to get gifts, I just wanted everyone together.
