Day Care Teacher Leaving - Should I give a gift?
DD (20 months) goes to day care twice a week since July. So really she hasn't been there for very long, or very much at this point. However, I was just informed that her teacher, who seems to have been wonderful, is leaving to work in a public school. I'm wondering if I should get her something to say "thanks for helping with DD's transition" and if so, what do I get? Sorry, I'm new to the whole day care thing.

Day Care Teacher Leaving - Should I give a gift?
I had a teacher we loved leave. I got her a "teacher" bracelet similar to an Alex and Ani bracelet. If you don't want to go that route maybe a $20 gift card to target with a you will be missed card.

I don't think it is necessary especially since your daughter is not there often but it would be a nice gesture!

I would! You never know if you will ever cross paths with her in the future or may need to contact her for something during your DD's school years.

Not necessary since she's only been in the class since July, but if you want to give something it's a nice touch. Something small.

I have a few teachers leave since ds has been in daycare. I have never given a gift.
I give gifts at holiday time and teacher appreciation day.

I had several teachers leave some I didn't know till they left and others I did know. for the most part I did not give them gifts. I did give one teacher a gift when she left but my DD ended up having her for a little over 3 years (she kept moving up with her when DD switched rooms).
I normally only give gifts during xmas.

i was just going to ask the same thing.
my dd started in July and only 3 days a week and i just found out this morning tomorrow is her last day.
my dd loves her! i feel so bad and with her leaving they are also moving her to another class and from a crib to a cot
this daycare is too much and im clueless =(
