Activities for kids-Lake George
We are going to Lake George and neither DH or I had been.
Any recommendations on things to do with the kids? We are staying at Fort William Henry and already plan to spend one day at Great Escapes amusement park.
Also any restuarant reccommendations?
Are the fireworks any night other than Thursday? We are staying Saturday thru Thursday.
I have kids 3 and 5 and we are meeting family with kids ranging from 4-8.
TIA

It rained on Tuesday so we went to lanes and games. Bowled and aracade. Otherwise we just swam at 3 different beaches and shopped.

Re: Activities for kids-Lake George
My DS loves the museum/tour at Fort William Henry. It's very geared towards kids and only takes about an hour in total. They do a musket-shooting simulation (the tour guide shoots, not the kids), and they fire a cannon from the top of the fort. They also have the kids dress up like soldiers and they get to "be in the army" and get paid a wooden coin for their days service. Its very cute.
Great Escape is a must-do.
Rent a boat for the day and get a daily camping island - you can grill, swim, etc. Lots of fun.

we rented a plantoon boat (for 10 people 3 kids, 5, and 2 ,2 yr olds) for the day. We went all over the lake. It was really nice. we got a permit and ate lunch on the picnic island and swam off there for a bit. Fished off the boat, rented a tube and went tuning off the boat. Loads of fun. We hit 3 beaches, which are perfect for little kids, and adults.
