Disappointed with Amazon Prime
So disappointed with Amazon Customer Service right now and so upset that my daughter will not have her present from us and my father in law to open on Sunday. We ordered her the Kindle HDX, but instead we received a pair of headphones. I spent an hour and a half on the phone with Amazon trying to get a new kindle sent and delivered by Saturday/Sunday. I spoke with 4 people. Not one person was willing to take the initiaitive. I was only getting the same answer, that they cannot contact the Fullfillment Center so they cannot expedite the "processing time". It was Amazon's error and I expected better customer service. I used to handle Executive Office complaints and other escalated issues for a bank and you better believe that if the bank I worked for was at fault, I busted my ass to correct the issue. Oh well. It is what it is. So, I think I am getting a new one Tuesday?? No clue at this point. So fustrated!! In the grand scheme of things, its not the end of the world. But it is still disappointing that they weren't helpful.

I would have just ordered another Kindle paid for the overnight shipping and returned the other one. Email amazon after and just ask them to refund the overages. I usually find that to be easier than worrying about what a customer service rep may do to correct the issue.

Im really surprised. They shipped my childrens' main christmas present and it was missing the main part. They overnighted a new one and gave us a 100 dollar credit.

I had an issue with delayed shipping today too.
I suspect it was UPS error though because our address is the same #, street and zip as a house in a different part of town.
It ended up coming today but the woman on the phone sounded like she was drunk and following a script.

I am really surprised. I would order a new one right now and over night it to yourself and than get on the phone with amazon and tell them again what happened. Right a bad review on amazon (let them know you are going to do this) and I'd demand they refund you the shipping costs.

I've had nothing but problems the last few years with amazon. I've posted issues on here in the past. Due to the problems, I refuse to fork over more money for any sort of prime or moms or whatever memberships. I order from them once in a while but not in critical situations.

This particular kindle takes an extra 1-2 business day for processing , then it's shipped. So , total it's 4 business days minimum. That was the whole issue. I couldn't believe they would not contact the Fulfillment Center to expedite the processing.

Not prime but my parents ordered a birthday gift for my daughter this year. They paid extra to get the two day express shipping. They screwed up and said oops we are out of stock (only told them the day it was supposed to arrive.). They refunded the shipping and said they would express the item when it came in. Instead they sent it regular mail so it came like two weeks after her birthday. As I understand they were not very helpful or nice.

There may be an option to not configure it to your account..this is what i think leads to the longer processing time...
Depending on what verison you are looking for, Best Buy has it onsale and in stock at my local store...if there were open, i can pick it up in 15 mins..

I have had a lot of issues with them the last few months...It seems they just don't care anymore... A lot of things have changed.. I probably won't be renewing my prime in October.
