Winter Gear - What else do I need?

I just ordered the 3 in 1 jacket for my DD who will be 18 months in Dec. I also got her snow pants, and water proof gloves. What else do I need? Hat? Boots? Am I missing something?

Is this 3 in 1 jacket warm enough to play in the snow? Do I need a different jacket to take walks or play outside?

I am so confused lol

I can easily return this stuff so if what I bought is no good I am open to suggestions or additions.

Winter Gear - What else do I need?

Looks good to me. I bought all that for last winter and the only thing that got used was the inner layer of the 3 in 1 but DD wasn't walking at all so we never took her out in the snow other than one time for 5 mins lol.

This year I'll get the same stuff you posted plus hat and snow boots

DS hated snow at that age so even though we had boots for him, we didn't need them..

Definitely a hat, and scarf too (b/c it's cute!).

I had the children's place set the last 2 years, but the filling was different. First year, DD could only wear the outer layer when it was very cold and still got sweaty. Last year's version seemed less warm, but she got more use from it.

I would get a hat and maybe knit gloves (pictured ones look good for snow, but I also like to have a lighter pair). Boots, if she will be walking in snow.

My boys hardly went outside at that age. They last 5 minutes.

I agree. My boys were not really into it more then 5 minutes.
Now they are almost 4. I think this year will be different.

Winter Gear - What else do I need?

Last winter dd had a north face jacket for everyday. We never played in the snow. She was 18 months.

I agree with a pp to get different gloves. Those are good for snow, but you want fleece or knit mittens for everyday. I also personally like the fleece hats that cover the ears and Velcro under the chin (childrens place should have coordinating ones) because I feel like it shields the entire sides of dd's face from the cold weather.

Good point! They have similar ones but not matching ones. I think I will get those also. Thank you! =)

I agree about the gloves and this kind of hat. I preferred that kind at this age. I'd also suggest buying a few different kinds of hats. In the fall and early spring, it's chilly and they need a lighter knit hat. But in the winter months, a heavy fleece that covers the ears is the way to go.

I always had to take the fleece liner out of the 3-in-1 jackets. They made my kids too warm.

When I bought stuff I wasn't sure they'd actually need, I would only buy from Carters and OshKosh because you can return months later as long as it had tags and you had the receipt. I still do this, and my kids are 6 and 2 1/2.
