Clogged milk duct?

How do you get rid of a clogged milk duct? I've trying to pump more often while at work (every 2 hours) but it doesn't seem to be helping. It hurts like hell. I just don't want this to turn into mastitis. Help!!!

I have heard to put warm/hot washcloths on and massage massage massage... have also seen people use vibrators on the spot and then pump, or dangle feed... hope it goes away soon, mastitis is the worst!

Massage it while u pump. Push hard, even though it hurts. Before you pump I usually put a wet washcloth on the microwave to get it hot and then put it on the clogged side for like 5 mins. Then pump and massage right away. GL I had mastitis this time around and it was horrible!

Thanks ladies!!! Thank god, last time I pumped it cleared!!!!!!!! Omg what a instant relief I felt. I massaged and pushed hard and it finally broke through. Hurt like hell though!

Tx to ivfmiracle, I fixed mine. It was so painful!

First, take 3 Motrin or Advil. Massage from the nipple out. Then express. Once you see milk, have your baby latch or pump. The was from an lc and it worked!

For a warm compress, full a diaper with hot water and it will stay warm for a long time. I tucked that right into my bra while pumping and it cleared it for me. Glad you got some relief!

Also look for a white spot on your nipple...it may need to be popped to get the milk flowing out again.
