Favorite things to do/places to go with a 9 month old?
DH's best friend is visiting us with their 9 month old daughter. It's been a while since I've had an infant and I'm not sure how best to entertain them.
When DS1 was 9m old, I was still trying to juggle a very demanding job. It was also winter so we mostly hung out at home or friends' homes. He did music class and baby gym with my mom during the week while I was at work.
Where are some good places to go with an infant?
Children's museum? Aquarium? Zoo? Sprinkler park?

Give her a cardboard box and a few puffs . That oughtta keep her entertained for a while. Lol
In terms of places to go, I think a place like the queens zoo is good because it's small and there's lots of shade there but honestly I don't think there's all that much to do with a baby that young
Also how long are they visiting for- just the day or for a while? is the mom on a strict schedule with the baby? She may not want to go to far if munchkin takes naps at certain times etc.
Where do you live? Maybe moms that live near you would have some good local places and ideas for things to do with munchkins
Eta--If you're anywhere near Huntington maybe a walk around heck shire park?

I take DS to the beach all the time. He enjoys splashing at the shore line (we are on the north shore so no waves)

Re: Favorite things to do/places to go with a 9 month old?
I'm recalling that at that age, kid-centered activities were mostly lost on dd. I may have taken her to a few places (small zoo, childrens museum) when getting together with friends who had slightly older kids, but she pretty much enjoyed just people watching and taking In her surroundings. At that age, we would do Huntington village (lunch, browsing the stores), walks in the wantagh park along the water, or the jones beach boardwalk at night. It's such an easy age because they just go with the flow, and kid-friendly is more appropriate than kid-centered.

I agree with the pp and would not plan things to keep the 9 month old entertained. I think at 15 months DS is just starting to understand kid-centric activities.

Agree with the box and puffs lol. Stuff like the Boardwalk and walks are good. At 13 months my DS now likes stuff like the zoo. But I think he likes looking at the birds and dogs around our neighborhood too.
