Depositing Checks Made Out to DD......
Today was DD's christening and she got a bunch of checks -- some written out to her name and some to me and DH. Questions:
1) How do I endorse checks written out to her? Just sign my name, write her account number and write "parent of?"
2) Can I deposit checks written out to me and DH into DD's account? My name is on her account.

Depositing Checks Made Out to DD......
I write his name and then account # OR you can write "for deposit only", that's how we deposit checks for my mil when she is out of the country.

at chase I was told to sign and then write parent of childs name
eta sorry I reread and realized it is her account I think for deposit only is your best bet regardless of who its written to, I would ask the bank

At TFCU I sign my name and then write minor: (their name) and then the account number. You can deposit checks written to you in her account too.

Depositing Checks Made Out to DD......
I work for a credit union and if the checks are going into the child's acct then we stamp it "credit to the account of within named payee" or you can write for deposit only. Some institutions require you to sign your name and underneath write "as parent of (child's name) and you should be able to deposit checks written out to you into DD acct. If they're written out to both you and your DH then you both should sign them. Some places make a stink if both don't.

The checks made out to me or DH, we endorse and deposit into the boys accounts without an issue.
The ones made out to them, one of you has to be the custodian on the minor's account (for us it's me) so I sign them "for Child's name" and "deposit Only"
I've never had a problem
