Rotavirus vaccine
Can you share your experiences with this vaccine. My DS had it then developed horrible diarrhea a week later with blood and mucous. Ended up being diagnosed with milk intolerance but I can't help wondering/ worrying that the vax may have irritated his intestines further. My dd has her 2 month visit this week and am dreading the same thing again ( as it is she already has mspi) What were your experienses and or reactions Thanks!

Rotavirus vaccine
No reaction. Doesn't even sound like a possible reaction based on what the doctors said and I've read. The diarrhea part, sure, but not the blood and mucus, those are prime examples of lactose intolerance symptoms.

Re: Rotavirus vaccine
No reaction... And I'm pretty sure he was exposed to rotavirus. He projectile vomited once (scariest thing I've ever seen... Looked like the exorcist) & then it just disappeared. Rota was rampant that time... I think getting the vaccine def helped & the immunity kicked in & prevented him from being super sick.

Rotavirus vaccine
My dd had No reaction to the vaccine but what you describe is exactly what lead to the diagnosis of my dd allergies to soy and milk protein at eight weeks old.
ETA: the onset of the allergies preceded the administration of the vaccine.

Re: Rotavirus vaccine
Thanks for the responses guys! I have no doubt my DS was dairy intolerant (regardless of vax side effect) just was concerned about irritating my already irritated DD's gi tract by giving her the vax. I obsess over her poops ( which sadly are still mucousy even being totally dairy/soy free) and am petrified of her developing diarrhea and wondering if it's from the vaccine vs yet another thing I'm eating that maybe I shouldn't be. The struggle to keep breastfeeding while feeling you might be poisoning your baby at the same time stinks

I struggled with breast feeding and food allergies- what worked for me was to give up the eight most common allergens and beef. I was able to add a few things back to my diet without dd having a reaction. If your dd is allergic to dairy I would suggest eliminating beef for a few weeks. As dd's allergist pointed out milk and beef come from the same animal--we laughed about it because I was so careful with everything else.

Re: Rotavirus vaccine
My first dc had the same reaction as yours. When I had my second child I gave the first dose and he reacted to it as well. I stopped giving the additional doses from that point and wouldn't give any future children this vaccine personally. Maybe it was a coincidence but that's what I feel comfortable with.

Re: Rotavirus vaccine
Neither of my kids had this vaccine because the ped wasn't giving it at the time. He now does but, the issues that arise from it were enough for me at the time. Both my kids were fine without it.
