Gift for cousin on bed rest?
My cousin was just put on bed rest for the duration of her pregnancy. She's only 21 weeks. Going to be a long, boring and isolating time. Of course I'm going to visit although that may be somewhat challenging with a 2 year old and a 3 week old and she lives in queens, I'm in Suffolk.
But what can I send her? A bunch of gossip mags would be good and maybe healthy snacks or an edible arrangement? Something distracting too, to take her mind off the worry. Movies?
If you were on bed rest what would have been a good thing to receive?

Does she have netflix? They sell Netflix gift cards to start up an account or add months to a current one.
Does she like to read? Books by a favorite author or some of your favorite authors that she would like?
In that same line- a kindle or something similar?

All of the above recommendations. I would just add, as a nerd, I would enjoy silly things like word puzzles, crossword puzzle books, oh and those silly magic pen books - I still need these when I fly if I can find them in time - I don't know if she would enjoy those, but just added ideas.

Re: Gift for cousin on bed rest?
Oh you can also set her up with a snack subscription from Graze.com You can send one gift box or do a subscription where she gets a box every week or every other week- however often you want for however long you want.
You can chose a 4 or 8 snack box. They have options like savory, sweet, both, heath conscious, low sugar, high protein etc/
It's kind of fun getting a box like that in the mail and seeing what you got. Especially for someone on bed rest. You can customize it to exclude things you don't like, etc.
Here is a code to get the first box free if you decide to do it.

That's kind of a different idea

Re: Gift for cousin on bed rest?
I was on bed rest for a few months when pregnant too.
I had a schedule. Multiple friends would call me through the day. They each had their time to call me. I would listen to what they did, we would talk about the news, the pregnancy. My dh was able to come home for lunch or I had a neighbor who would come by. I was only aloud out of bed to shower once a week, for OBGYN appointments, and to use the bathroom. I had computer time. tv time, reading books, knitting, one player card games. On line games. I was able to keep to the schedule which was really nice because I was not board and could still rest.

Does she have a kindle? Amazon or iTunes gift cards are always nice. I was on crutches for several months a few years ago and I read a crap load.
