Disney Dining...no reservation?
I am in the process of making dining reservations for our trip. Have a couple already but it got me thinking: I can't possibly make reservations for every meal for every day we are there. Do any restaurants seat without reservations or is my family doomed to eat fast food all day long? The last time I went to Disney was about 10 years ago.

Disney Dining...no reservation?
I tried to make a reservation for at least one meal a day. The other meals we did quick service, where we didn't have to. Usually the reservation was for breakfast or dinner. Lunch was just quick service.

It depends on when you are going as to whether or not you will actually get a table anywhere. More than likely you wouldn't without a reservation. There are many good quick service choices that are not your typical "fast food" faire though.

Re: Disney Dining...no reservation?
I've learned so much from just reading all kinds of blog posts and message boards about Disney.
Ended up canceling several reservations as a result.
I too only planned a couple special meals and at times that shouldn't conflict with anything else.
I think it's in Downtown Disney, but there's supposed to be a food truck row with delicious offerings like Indian food that I'm actually looking forward to.
I also didn't plan anything too late In the day as I figured even a 6 or 7 pm reservation, DS may be shot from the park and not be able to handle that.

Yes. We aren't big eaters anyway so I planned a brunch, lunch and dinner at places.
I figured we could pick up something light the other times. Planning to offer DS breakfast in the room. DH and I may grab and go a pastry or egg sandwich in the am.
I've also had many people tell me that due to the walking and heat depending on time of year, you won't be super hungry anyways....just want to drink or have something like ice cream.

Disney Dining...no reservation?
you probably want to make one reservation a day... that way you know you'll have at least one sit-down meal a day. plus, if you want to do any of the character meals, those definitely need a reservation! i don't think theres a "slow" time of year at Disney anymore... so pretty much any time of year you need to make a few reservations. we're going in a few weeks (end of august) and got the dining plan free... so for us, it was a no-brainer to make reservations, since we have the dining plan included anyway . so i did one a day ( either breakfast or dinner) a couple days i have a breakfast AND dinner... but, we're fatties and love food HAHAHA BUT- like somebody else said, the quick service stuff is good, too-- they have a lot more than typical burgers and fries at most places

Depending on when you go you probably wont be able to get a sit down meal if you don't have reservations. It can all be done online through the web site.

Re: Disney Dining...no reservation?
I would not book more than one a day, at the absolute most. Many quick service locations have very good choices if you know what to look for.
If you tell us what parks you are going to, we can suggest quality quick service options.

Quality quick service, just off the top of my head:
HS:
ABC Commissary has salads, salmon, quinoa, etc. Several healthy choices Studio Catering Co. has some different sandwiches There is also a place with sushi but I forgot what it's called
Magic Kingdom: Columbia Harbour house is by far my favorite. Seafood themed and very good.
Epcot: tons of good choices. Sunshine Seasons in Future world is excellent although the countries are better. I've been to pretty much all the QS in Epcot's World Showcase except China (we eat too much Chinese at home!) and they are all good. My favorites are probably Norway and France - the patisserie in France has a huge selection and everything is to die for. The fish and chips in the UK were excellent as well. You almost can't go wrong.
AK: Flame tree BBQ is supposed to be excellent but we didn't eat there - just sharing their reputation. I've only been once and I think we grabbed pizza, which was fine, but what I would consider normal "park" food.
