Age for DW?

I am trying to decide between doing a quick trip to Hershey or a quick trip to DW. My kids have never been to either one.

My DS is 6 yo and very tall for his age. He likes rides but gets bored by what I would consider "baby rides" (cars that go around in a flat circle, etc.). I worry that he will find DW boring.

Is there an age that is just too old for DW?

Re: Age for DW?

I think at 6- and being tall- he can ride most of the rides there- even the adult ones
I don't think he will be bored because there are plenty more fast paced rides for older kids

We just got back from DW and I think it is the perfect place for that age. My nephew is 8 (and very tall) and was able to ride just about everything. They have "bigger" rides, not just "baby" ones.

I can't imagine ANYONE finding DW boring. We were planning a trip for next year and we now have been guilted into going out to California to visit family and have to cancel the trip we were planning and I am so beyond disappointed. We *might* hit DL, but it is no where even close to the same thing.

The last time we went last fall, my girls were pretty much over it--they were 7 & 9. They were good sports for the sake of my little guy (4) though. We're going to Lancaster later in the summer and will be hitting Hershey instead. We all love Hershey...the kiddie rides are interspersed throughout the park, so no one is confined to one area and no one gets bored.

Are you talking about Disney World or Dutch Wonderland?

Age for DW?

I just was thinking the same thing... I was thinking Disney World, and I must be wrong... I can't imagine being bored there.

I think she means Dutch Wonderland as it's close to Hershey- her other choice.

Re: Age for DW?

If he likes rollercoasters, Hershey is better. We just took my 6.5 year old and 3 year old sons to both. My older one enjoyed DW, but preferred Hershey. He's under 48" so he could only ride 3 of the rollercoasters at Hershey, including one with a loop, but he loved them and the other rides. DH took him on a bunch of rides that my younger one couldn't go on, but he also had a great time going on the little rides.

Re: Age for DW?

I would do Hershey in your case. I LOVE DW but by 6, especially a tall 6, there's alot more in Hershey and DW might start to seem a little boring if DC is a ride enthusiast.
