next door neighbor's unruly lawn
The house next door to me is a rental. The most recent tenants moved out and the owner lives OOS. The grass looks terrible, the weeds are about a foot high- it has been this way for about 2-3 weeks now. Does anyone know if the grass has to be a certain height in order for the town to come mow it?

It depends on the town, but I've never heard of the town mowing it, they will, at a certain height, fine the owner and issue a summons.

I do think that some towns (maybe most?) will come and mow at some point and then bill the property owner. I don't know the height requirements but if it'snot listed on the town website, you could probably find out by calling (and make a complaint at the same time)
