Drivable vacation - not to crazy
Trying to find a nice place to vacation this year that is driveable with a 6 Year old

My kids love Williamsburg. It's a decent drive, but totally worth it. We usually do two days at Busch Gardens, one day at Water Country and then relax the days in between.
We also really like a resort in Virginia called Massanutten. We've been there pretty much all seasons. They have a ton of activities.
If you want to stay even closer, we have enjoyed Villa Roma, Woodloch, and Crystal Springs. Then of course you gave the beachier places like jersey shore, Newport, Ocean City. Good cities for kids are Boston, DC and Philly.

Rehoboth Beach is nice.
I also know there are other towns in the area to stay at.
We are going to do Disney at the end of the summer.
I know so many people who drive it and they said it's not terrible.
You just rotate drivers and usually by the time you are 5 or 6 hours away, you get motivated to just finish the drive.

PA - Philadelphia, Lancaster, Hershey.
MA - Boston + Cape Cod.
We did Maine beach plus Boston one year and had a great time.
