Big Sister to Be Party?
Is this a real thing? Like a baby shower for a sister?

I have to agree.
If you want to include her in some type of party I would have a sprinkle and make sure she is part of it or a gender reveal and let her be the one who does the reveal

Big Sister to Be Party?
I fear for the next generation...they'll be expecting balloons and confetti to fall from the ceiling every time they get out of bed!!!!

Re: Big Sister to Be Party?
Really?? Does this actually exist?? I've never heard of such a thing nor would I have any interest in attending such an "event". That's just silliness.
When our DD became a big sister we just gave her a few little gifts at the hospital the day our DS was born, I would never have thought to "throw a party" because she became a big sis.

Big Sister to Be Party?
This is just ridiculous! When my DS was born we bought the twins a present. But throwing a party for a child who is going to be a big sister?!?! I would have to rsvp no immediately.

Big Sister to Be Party?
I read it on Facebook. Someone was selling a large toys r us gift card citing that her dd has too many toys already, so people were giving her ideas what she could do with it- and one girl said she could use it to buy gifts for bday parties and "big sister to be parties", which it sounded like she had been to/ was very familiar with. I never heard of it but figured if anyone would know it, lif would be the place, lol.

Re: Big Sister to Be Party?
haha. I think it's nice to celebrate with the sibling-to-be, but not with any kind of party that requires gifts, guest lists, etc. I'm just planning on having DD involved in the gender reveal. If I didn't have DD I probably wouldn't even DO a gender reveal. That's funny.

Re: Big Sister to Be Party?
Personally, I think it's creepy to buy a gift from the baby to the older sib-to-be (my kids know you go to the store to buy gifts & that baby is INSIDE mama).
May be nice when the baby is born to get a small cake & do a private celebration of a new "role in life" for the big sib: heck... it means more than a preK or K graduation!

lmao. I thought I was the only one who felt that way. How is the baby shopping for that? DD is old enough to realize it's from mommy & daddy so if we do get something for her it will be from us to celebrate that she's a big sister now.
