Disney people...please come in
which has been your fav resort?
I'm looking into going to Disney within the next yr or 2 and want to try a new resort. I've been to Pop Century and The Contemporary, which I both loved. Thinking maybe doing a moderate this time.
Any suggestions?
Would be mostly going to MK and possibly a day at HS and Epcot.
TIA!

It's a Deluxe, but I love the Boardwalk area! it's a short walk to Epcot and a short boat ride to HS.
Last time we went, we had a "no park" day and I loved that we can rent a boat & bike, grab lunch at the various places to eat and at night there is free entertainment.

I LOVED Port Orleans Riverside. The grounds were just beautiful and the rooms were really nice. I would stay there again in a heartbeat!

Thank you ladies! Did you find the rooms to be spacious? We will be a family of 5.

I LOVE Animal Kingdom Lodge. It's my home away from home. The Beach Club is also at the top of my list. As for moderate resorts, I really enjoy Caribbean Beach Resort and Port Orleans.
I would love to help you plan a magical vacation for you and your family. Send me an email and we can go over all of the resort details. My services are free for LIF members.

Yes, another vote for this. We loved it. Rooms could have been a bit larger but it was fine. We could still fit our double stroller and pack n play.

thanks everyone. My DH really wants to stay at AoA in a family suite - like Nemo. Has anyone stayed? Is it spacious?

I haven't stayed at AOA but we walked around the grounds and my kids (6 and 2) went NUTS for the theming all around. It's really an adorable resort if you want the over-the-top Disney theme everywhere you walk. My SIL has stayed their twice in the suites (family of 4) and they loved it.

We've stayed twice in a cars suite, which is the same layout as nemo just different theming. I loved the resort. We had a blast both times. The only minor negative for me was no table service restaurant onsite. But not that big a deal.

I stayed in a Little Mermaid room. There is no way you could fit 5 people in there.

All of the rooms at AOA, except The Little Mermaid room, are suites that have 2 bathrooms and a separate bedroom.

This, the AOA family suites are designed to sleep 6, but they are also much more expensive than the standard little mermaid room. Although its considered "a value" hotel, i dont believe tbe suites are considered value (they have indoor hallways as well that values don't have) and in reallity the suites can be just as expensive as the moderates and sometimes not much less than some of the deluxes. However you get a lot more space, a kitchenette, 2 bathrooms and from the pics I've seen from people's trip reports on disboards, the AoA rooms and bathrooms look nicer than many of the moderate and even deluxe rooms.

Disney people...please come in
We booked the polynesian for next year. I wanted to be close to mk on the monorail.
I like Caribbean beach for theming, but the buses take a long time because it's so big! Also liked port Orleans but our room was far from the main building- it was fine bc we had no kids when we went but I dinet want to do that with little ones! I find dis boards helpful for suggestions to request rooms in certain areas depending on your needs.
Our trip is next April and I'm so excited already!!

It's about a 25 minute bus ride from Magic Kingdom (time varies based on time of dat, traffic, etc) but one great thing is that you have a beautiiful boat ride to Downtown Disney, you have Yeeha Bob at night, and of course the Royal Guest Rooms are awesome.

Re: Disney people...please come in
Port Orleans (both) is my favorite moderate but I personally am the kind of person who will usually either do a Value or a Deluxe. My family is small so the extra room in the moderate doesn't matter to me, nor do the Queen beds. I'd rather either save my $ at a value or really go for it and go Deluxe, especially for one with good proximity to the parks.
