I would bring an empty bottle in a bottle bag with ice packs and pour the remainder in until we either needed another bottle or can get home and into fridge.

We just brought the 8 oz cans. Whatever he drank, great. I know it's expensive and we probably wasted a lot of formula with this, but it worked for us. In the beginning, though, we would just fill bottles with what we knew he would drink and packed them in a cooler bag. Now that he's almost a year old, he will take just about 8 oz so it's much easier.

I purchased a rubbermaid large water bottle and used that. Or i would just make bottles and put them in the fridge or pack in a cooler bag with an ice pack for while i was out and about.

This is exactly what I used to do, except that it took me a while to find out cooler bags existed so I used to carry with me zip lock bags with ice in them, lolol! Btw, there are cute cooler bags that can fit 1 or 2 bottles perfectly!

And there are these cooler bags that the bag itself is the "ice pack" you put the actual bag in the freezer and no ice pack needed. Stays just as cold. And their super cute. Seen them at bbb and amazon.
