bookbag for a 3 year old?
I'd go with one of the LL Bean ones.

Re: bookbag for a 3 year old?
I have this one for my almost 3 year old. It's a little smaller than a regular backpack and fits him perfectly. He carries it himself most places....unless he stuffs too much cr@p in there and it's too heavy. But he loves it and it's worked for us. backpack

They have smaller ones at Toys R Us in the aisle with the Disney stuff. DD has a small Minnie Mouse one that is perfect for her size.

I have one from PBK -- they have tons of colors, styles, and things you can embroider on it too - from their name to a design.
I love that there are crayon holders inside his! And a place for books and a place for a drink on the side of it -- overall, it's so well made and cute.

bookbag for a 3 year old?
i got my DS one off of Amazon... by Crocodile Creek. just search Crocodile Creek backpacks on there and it should come up.... they have a bunch of different designs. it had great reviews so i went with it... its been GREAT for 2 years of preschool now. perfect size for him to wear, but it still fits a full sized folder in there without having to bend it, etc.... its well made and holding up really well...

Re: bookbag for a 3 year old?
I got one for my older son when he started K in Sept from Lands End - I've put that thing in the washing maching at least 10x ..........it weighs nothing and still looks brand new after having a 5/6 year old beat on it all school year. I just ordered one for my 4 year old too .....
They have their initials on them, and they do embroidery too (hockey, baseball, etc)

We have something like this
Skip Hop on Amazon
I don't think it's Skip Hop though- I got it at BJs for about $15

Re: bookbag for a 3 year old?
I'd actually recommend going with a bigger one than the mini PBK.
DS started preschool and had to fit a folder with his work & forms, a ziplock bag with a change of clothes & random other stuff in that bag. The mini/preK def did not fit the folder we needed.

Did you ever see the small backpack from them. I got my daughter the mini pbk one last year and she didn't really need it so I knew it would be fine. Her school provided them with a bag. This year she needs a backpack for pre-k and I was thinking of getting the small one instead of the large. I feel the large would be too big for her to carry but I am afraid the small backpack would be too small for her folder and a couple things. I watched the video and looked at measurements but am still afraid to order the small.
