With ALL DUE RESPECT to the prison system......
People have been calling Tim Robbins for advice about prison breaks.
These idiots called an ACTOR who portrayed a man who did a prison break.
A movie that was made 20? years ago?
Because we all KNOW Tim Robbins is a prison break expert.
Yes. Actors do research. He MIGHT know a little something. But to think he can give ANY help in a real life prison break? Even THAT to me is FAR fetched at BEST.
Why not also call:
Tommy Lee Jones? (Fugitive)
Or Tom Hanks (Green Mile).
Or Clint Eastwood. He was in Escape from Alcatraz.
OR????.........
(ETA: I heard the prison called. I have corrected to say He has been getting calls, in general)

So you know how that New York prison break is totally like The Shawshank Redemption because everyone in the media keeps pointing it out? Well, Shawshank star Tim Robbins has some thoughts on that.
Two prisoners somehow managed to escape a high-security prison facility in upstate New York, and almost every single reference to it in the media references the critically-acclaimed 1994 movie based on the Stephen King book.

So, naturally, Robbins is the exact right person to talk to when something like this happens. And as Robbins told Conan O’Brien last night, people do reach out to him sometimes after prison breaks (which O’Brien joked is a little like “calling Leo DiCaprio every time a boat sinks”).
Robbins said he got a few calls about this prison break but had to explain, “That was a movie, this is real life.”
