Bahamas or Florida for Columbus Day weekend?
My son gets the Friday off before Columbus Day. We would like to go away for a 4 night weekend.
Would you pick the Bahamas or Florida?
Our choices are:
1. Atlantis - our whole family loved this place. Would most likely stay at Reef. Stayed at the Cove in 2013.
2. Breakers Palm Beach 3. Ritz Orlando - resort vacation with probably Halloween party at MK only.
4. Bahamar in the Bahamas if it ever opens
5. Other suggestions

Re: Bahamas or Florida for Columbus Day weekend?
I would keep in mind that it is still rainy season in Florida & Bahamas.
I had 1 solid week of rain at Atlantis when I went (June) & while it's hit or miss, it made for a terrible beach vacation. There are nice aquariums, but we went twice a day times 6 days. We ended up being in the pool despite the rain (but they close pools when rain gets hard).
Had similar last year when we went to Disney in late September (we wore rain ponchos, but when it is pouring, it is not a pleasant experience). We did love the Halloween party though! My fav way to do Disney.

I've stayed at both The Breakers and Ritz. Breakers is beautiful, but i found it a little "stuffy". I def think Ritz is more accommodating to families and kids. Plus you can do the Halloween party and or other parks, and also relax at hotel. Best of both IMO.
